When you are vacationing at Disney World it is hard to think about leaving the parks even for a second. We hate to leave when it closes down for the night! However, sometimes taking a break from the parks can lead you on another adventure and calm your nerves. A great place to visit when you need a break is Disney Springs. Disney Springs used to be called Downtown Disney. In 2015 it got a facelift and is definitely the place to be when you aren’t in the parks. It has just about everything you could want and is done in true Disney fashion, including entertainment, shopping, and of course, amazing food! There are so many options, that it can be hard to choose where to take the family. After a lot of research, I can confidently tell you the best places to eat at Disney Springs.
If you are traveling with kids it might be better to do this one during the day. At night it has more of an adults-only feel. This is the perfect spot if you want an extra special date night or are celebrating a special occasion! It has a trendy, modern steakhouse feel with a in-house DJ and if eating outside is your thing, the patio is to die for! The menu varies and has everything from great steaks to a raw bar. The prices are not cheap, the entrees will run you between $35-$59.99. The good news is, if you have Disney’s Dining or Deluxe Dining plan, you can eat here for 2 credits. (Reservations are a must)
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
This place is great for the whole family! It is fresh from the farm to the fork and has some southern cuisine that will transport you to a magical place. You can eat inside where you will be able to see the cooking done or you can grab a spot on the covered porch. You will honestly feel like you are visiting your southern Grandma! Some menu offerings include: Church Lady Deviled Eggs, Thigh High Chicken Biscuits, Shrimp and Grits, and of course Chef Art’s famous Fried Chicken. The majority of the ingredients are sourced from local farms, ranches, and fisheries, so you know you are eating fresh! Prices range from $15-$34.99 and most dining plans are accepted. (Reservations are a must)
This one is on here more for the atmosphere than the food. The food is pretty much the same fare you would get at a local chain restaurant but the atmosphere is really fun. This one is great for families but it can get loud, so be prepared! They have different themed rooms with everything from color changing caverns to a giant fern forest. However, if you have noise sensitive children you may want to avoid this restaurant. There is a meteor shower with loud booming noises and changes in lighting about every 20 minutes. The star of the restaurant is a 15ft tall T Rex that makes you think you may be in the Jurassic Park movie, but you don’t have to worry about him coming after you! If you have dinosaur fans, the atmosphere and decorations really add a lot of fun to your meal. Prices range from $15-$34.99 and most dining plans are accepted. (Reservations are a must)
This restaurant is like a sister to the T-Rex Cafe. They are also about atmosphere and you really feel like you have traveled to the rainforest. There are animals of all shapes and sizes, as well as giant fish tanks, around the restaurant that make noise and move throughout your meal. A thunderstorm occurs with thunder and darkness, which can frighten small children. If you have an animal lover, visit this cafe.
Splitsville Dining Room
Does your family love to bowl? If so, Splitsville is the place you want to be! It is a two story bowling alley that has some of the best food in all of Disney Springs. This is not your usual bowling alley fare. With everything from Pizza to Sushi, you are sure to find something for everyone. After you eat, work off the calories by bowling at one of the 30 available lanes. The Disney magic doesn’t stop just because you are off property. The bowling balls are Disney themed and the lanes light up at night. It is a lot of fun and you should plan on spending at least 2 hours there. Just a note, it gets very crowded and busy. Wait times may be long which can be hard for little kids. They do not take reservations and do not accept any of the Disney Dining Plans. If you can get in, it will be an experience you will always remember! (They Don't Accept Reservations)
Wolfgang Puck Express
If you are wanting a quick lunch, Wolfgang Puck Express is perfect! You can get everything from artisan crafted sandwiches to pizza. They also have a one-of-a-kind kids menu that will please even the most picky eaters. It is just at the end of the marketplace in Disney Springs. This is a quick service, casual restaurant so come as you are, no need for fancy attire. The best part? Quick service credits are accepted here! So you can have lunch and save your table credits for later! Prices range from $14.99 and under. (Reservations are not needed)
The menu is crafted by famous Irish chef, Kevin Dundon, and features fare like: shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, and ham schnitzel. If you have anyone in your party that is sensitive to a lot of noises, you may want to skip this one. But if you can take the noise and want a really good ole’ Irish time, this is a must see (or should I say eat)! Want the most delectable chocolate dessert in the world? Try the Dunbrody Kiss. It is chocolate, more chocolate, and even more chocolate! Top all that delicious food off with a show! The house band plays Irish tunes, and the dancers jig to the beat. The entertainment is only available during dinner, but it is worth every penny! It is a lot of fun, and even the kids will love it. Prices range from $15-$34.99. They also accept most dining plans. (Reservations are a must)
Paradiso 37, Taste of the Americas
If you are looking for the perfect date night, look no further. Take a tour of North, Central, and South America with food inspired by the countries there. The restaurant overlooks Village Lake and has a latin feel. You can start off with the South American corn, move onto the Surf and Turf, and then finish your meal with Tres Leches. It is like traveling abroad without ever leaving Florida! Prices range from $15-$34.99. They also accept most dining plans. (Reservations are a must)Whether you are looking for a quick lunch or a filling dinner, Disney Springs has something for everyone!
