4 Cheese Baked Macaroni and Cheese
When cooler weather starts to head our way, I automatically start thinking about comfort foods. There's not much better than sitting in a comfy sweatshirt with your favorite people, eating one of your favorite childhood foods. If you are like most people, macaroni and cheese was a staple in your house growing up as a part of your kid friendly menu. While I wouldn't recommend eating it every day if you want to stay healthy, this delicious and easy to make 4 cheese macaroni and cheese is delish!
- 1 pound elbow macaroni (you can substitute whole wheat if you want)
- ¼ cup reserved starch water (or milk)
- 3 cups cheddar, shredded (divided)
- 1 cup mozzarella
- ½ cup parmesan
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steps1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Prepare pasta as directed, al dente. 3. If using- reserve a quarter cup of starch water before draining pasta. 4. Drain pasta and return to pan. 5. Mix in Butter and cream cheese until melted/soft. 6. Add in seasonings and liquid- milk or starch water. 7. Add in half of the cheddar, and all of the mozzarella and parmesan. 8. Mix until the cheese is melted. 9. Pour into an 11x13 pan. 10. Sprinkle the rest of the cheddar over the top. 11. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. 12. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes. 13. Serve this delicious macaroni and cheese with a helping of your favorite veggies.
