Movement and music are great tools to help children grow and develop. While my daughter loves both music and movement, she can be very shy and timid around other people. When the opportunity to have her attend a free class at our local Little Gym came up, I jumped at the chance. Little Gym I love the variety of classes they offer for children starting as young as 4 months old. There are classes offered every day of the week, and at multiple times. Sass attended the class for 3-4 year olds on Friday at noon. The class lasted 50 minutes, and was led by 2 instructors. I was a little worried that she wouldn't want to go in with me watching from the viewing window in the lobby. However, the instructors were so good at distracting and welcoming all of the children, I had nothing to fear. She participated in all of the songs and activities. Her favorite part was jumping on the blow up strip and using the gymnastics equipment. It was amazing to see her confidence grow in such a short time.
About The Little Gym
  • The Little Gym offers unique, educational, movement-based classes for children 4 months through 12 years.
  • Classes include Parent/Child, Gymnastics, Dance, and Sports Prep classes (class options vary by location).
  • Through unique programs that revolve around active play, The Little Gym complements and enhances the traditional school experience—even before kids are school age! They give children a safe and inspiring space to direct their energy, build confidence, and develop key skills.
  • The Little Gym embraces a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning, in which physical activity is a conduit for nurturing the whole child. The Three-Dimensional Learning approach to skill development means that every class offered fosters growth in three holistic dimensions—Brain Boost!, Get Moving! and Citizen Kid!
  • Brain Boost! helps to nurture listening skills, concentration, and decision making that benefits children well beyond the gym environment.
  • Get Moving! helps children develop flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination through varied physical activities.
  • Citizen Kid! promotes sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership through spending time with peers.
  • Robin Wes, an innovative educator, musician, and kinesiologist founded The Little Gym over 41 years ago. Robin envisioned a nurturing place where children could explore their physical development, while also growing socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
