Leader in Me at Home: Family Mission Statement
We recently had the opportunity to attend a workshop at Family Forward, taught by The Leader In Me. One of the key things we learned was that, "creating and maintaining goals is important not only for school and work, but for family as well." Communication and cooperation are a big part of being a successful and healthy family. What better way to bring your family together than by creating a family mission statement that everyone can get behind?Since my children are both young, I wasn't sure if I would have to do all of the work or if they would be able to give their own input. I quickly realized that they were more than able to speak their minds and share their opinions in their own ways. So, it became clear that now was the time to unite us in a common goal.

Our Family Mission Statement:
Here are 5 Questions to Help Make Your Own Family Mission Statement:
- What words would you use to describe your family?
- How do you want to treat each other?
- What are some of your family's values?
- How do you want your family to be perceived?
- What tone do you want to set?

I love this! We are doing this in our school right now. Our school and classrooms created mission statements. With having a blog, I created one as well. Mine is Live-Laugh-Love
That is great! I wish our school was doing the training, I think it is a great way to teach kids life skills that will help them be leaders. Love your mission statement!
