Review:
The movie opens with Sam and Sue 20 years ago as children. Sam has a soda can ring he wants to give to Sue because he loves her. Sadly, Sue's Aunt Catherine points out to Sam that Sue is special and the quality of the ring is what shows the quality of the man. This leads us to seeing Sam grown up and misguided about having to spend all of his money on an expensive ring just to be able to turn Sue from his girlfriend to his fiancee. Super-villain Oscar and his own robot (Victor) also visit the jewelry store, only they are there to steal a giant ring and propose to Oscar's own sweetheart (Sue's big shot Aunt Catherine who disapproves of Sam). Sam plans to use his robots to help him propose to his girlfriend at their big Valentine's Day Show, but their clumsy antics are known to leave destruction in their wake. Proposal night is no different, and everything falls apart leaving Sue angry and agreeing with her aunt. After the fumbled proposal, Oscar ends up taking Sam's ring. The three main robots (a monkey, a farting pig, and a frog like creature) are comical and goofy, which keeps kids laughing. They portray heroes in the theme park show, but when Sam needs them, they step up as real heroes to help retrieve the ring. When they finally get the ring back and Sam proposes to Sue, he realizes his friends got back the wrong ring. Instead of explaining what happened, he takes back his proposal, crushing Sue's hopes for the second time. After being taken advantage of the entire movie, Victor decides to brake away from Oscar and become his own super-villain. I won't ruin the ending for you, but there are plenty of action packed scenes in the last 20 minutes, and kids will be glued to the screen waiting to see which robots will win this epic battle. There is also a great message throughout this movie about the fact that you don't have to be extravagant or perfect to be a great person.
